Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, has responded to the resolutions on homosexuality passed by the recent General Convention of the Episcopal Church. Among passages likely to be of interest to Evangelicals in PECUSA is this one:

[The question] ‘is about whether the Church is free to recognise same-sex unions by means of public blessings that are seen as being, at the very least, analogous to Christian marriage… it is clear that a positive answer to this question would have to be based on the most painstaking biblical exegesis and on a wide acceptance of the results within the Communion’.

‘No Plan B’ Evangelicals will no doubt be eager to help keep the church’s attention on this task!
