At St Francis in the Fields where I pastor, we have begun a church revitalization process through Natural Church Development.  And I am excited about the potential for growth, not just in numbers, but in the quality of parish life that can can help it thrive for generations to come.  This is rebuilding on a micro level.

Kevin Martin, on the macro level, has some thoughts (via the Covenant blog) about what needs to be addressed on a macro level in dioceses to stem decline .  Of note is the  link between planting new churches and rejuvenating old ones.  I commend his article for those of us who are serious about recovering a dying (dead?) Church.  Ideally, the macro and micro should go hand-in-hand, which is to in this article.  Pray for bishops and clergy to wake up to the realities that need to be addressed.
